Black, White & Yellow Wedding {Inspiration}

There is really no question in my mind why I think this color palette is my current favorite… it makes me smile. These playful colors can be used year round. Summer yellow, lemon yellow, sunflower yellow all inspire.

I have always loved the damask pattern in black & white. The modern contrast of black white and yellow is a perfect combo for your wedding!

{Maravilla Gardens} This charming wedding site is located conveniently off the 101 Freeway in Camarillo, California. If you were a passerby, you might think that it was simply a  family home. If you turn off Santa Rosa Rd into the drive way of 8620, you immediately realize you have escaped to much more. This lush, green landscape was designed and is managed by the very own Maravilla Family.  Inspired by their own daughter’s wedding, Tony and Jo Maravilla set to create this beautiful wedding venue.  After 7 years, Maravilla Gardens is one of Camarillo’s premier wedding venues.

We both grew up in Camarillo, California and it has been a very long time since each of us permanently resided in the town, yet there is that unique feeling when we drive north from Orange County and descend into Camarillo off the grade… No matter where life may lead us, Camarillo is home.

Love & Laughter Events: Real Wedding: Casa Romantica: Jos & Lindsay Married.

We could not be more excited to share with you the incredible story, details and photos from the wedding of Jos & Lindsay. As very close friends of ours, it was my absolute pleasure to help plan and coordinate their special day.

From the very beginning this couple had unique and creative ideas for their wedding. Lindsay and Jos combined their love for each other as well as their family and friends with their passion for comedy and love for romantic vintage style.

This wedding’s inspiration came from their ultra unique wedding invitation which was designed to look like an vintage newspaper! The “Romantica Times – Special Edition” announced the merger of the two families, included the social, society, classifieds, funnies, weather and travel sections which were all tailored to reflect their wedding day and information.

Every detail was thought of and so beautifully executed. Some of my favorite details include : the ceremony beverage station, chalkboard signs, handmade cake topper to match the bride’s dress, personal bundt cakes for all of the guests (the bride’s favorite!), vintage ticket carousels for the escort cards, gorgeous ceremony programs & menu cards designed by bridesmaid Lauren, and the bride’s personal project: an incredible “How do you know the Bride & Groom” board which included every guest and their photo!

I have never met a cupcake I didnt like. For that matter, I dont think I have ever met someone who does NOT  like cupcakes. With my stepfather’s birthday coming up, I was on the hunt for the perfect treat. So asked friends where to find the best cupcakes in the Ventura County area.

Immediately, Cupcakery was at the top of their list. Run by a Mother and Daughter team, this Cupcake Bakery is the best place around. With the adorable boutique decor and feel you open the door to the most incredible smell – cupcakes! I was so excited by their everyday selections and daily specials. I made my selections, and chatted with the owner. She was as sweet as her treats. The Cupcakery does large orders for birthday parties, baby showers, weddings or the celebration of your choice.

“Up!” Inspired Engagement Shoot : Wildflower Photography

A few months ago one of my best friends called me to say that when she gets married she wants her wedding to be inspired by the movie “UP!”. I giggled, told her she was crazy and when the time comes if that is what she wants, I would help make it happen.

Then, I met the mother of the bride of this couple and she told me I HAD to check out the “Up” inspired engagement shoot by Wildflowers Photography.  I rushed home to google this super cute idea and could not be more pleased with the results of my search. These photos are so great! The brilliance is romantic, playful and absolutely perfect.

If you have seen the Disney Pixar movie, you can appreciate the details they brought into this shoot. I now cannot wait for my friend to get engaged so we can also use this brilliant movie as our inspiration!

What to wear while getting ready on your wedding day....a few ideas

I recently asked a Bride to be if she had considered what to wear while she was getting ready. She had not put any thought into It so I tried to find something cute for her. I found a cute strapless white terry dress available at Target for only $18. If you are a Spring or Summer bride or destination, below are a few good ideas for warm weather. 

Brides often want something comfortable and cute to wear during hair and makeup preparations for their wedding day. Many brides want to wear white, most of all they want it to not pull over their head to mess up everything that has just been done. Here are a few great buys for the perfect getting ready outfits.
